HCG Drops Targetted by FDA

Posted by Kathleen on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, In : HCG Diet
The FDA has issued seven warning letters to companies marketing HCG products labelled as homeopathic for weight loss.

The FDA threat has already affected the availability of HCG drops from a number of manufacturers fearful of being fined by the FDA for "false claims" that homeopathic HCG helps in weight control.

I won't go into all the details here, but the effectiveness of HCG drops, at least those from recommended companies, is unquestionable. I have seen dozens of successes with people I'v...

GOAL!!!

Posted by Kathleen on Thursday, August 4, 2011, In : HCG Diet
I did it! I've now shed 100 pounds. I can't begin to tell you how good this feels on every level of my being.

Let me try: The other day I was carrying a 44-pound bag of dog food up the stairs. Now needless to say, I wasn't very happy about it. Who would be? Then suddenly I realized just nine months ago, I was carrying 2.5 times (give or take) the weight of that bag on my body, lugging it around with every step I took. No wonder my energy is so good. -I don't have to haul around all that extra...

Nearing my goal!

Posted by Kathleen on Thursday, July 7, 2011, In : HCG Diet
Just 8 pounds to go-- I am about to reach my goal weight of -100 pounds. It's been just over 8 months. I am so excited!
I'm now preparing to enter Phase 3 where I will stop the HCG and increase calorie count to what's correct for my goal weight (about 1700 calories a day) while I continue to nearly no carb for three more weeks. This will re-set my hypothalamus to keep me at my goal weight as long as I am reasonable about what I eat. More reflections later. Look for new photo to be on the cover...

I love belts!

Posted by Kathleen on Friday, May 20, 2011, In : HCG Diet
Until a couple of months ago, I hadn't owned a belt for 20 years--not coincidentally when I began to pile on the pounds post-menopause. I certainly didn't want to draw attention to that bulging waist.

Then the day came when I feel adventuresome enough to buy a belt. At that point, I had probably dropped about 50 pounds of unwanted fat. Off I went to my favorite thrift store and picked out a belt. It wasn't just any belt. It was a  "LOOK AT MY WAIST!" cowgirl belt replete with silver conchos. ...

81 pounds and counting!

Posted by Kathleen on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, In : HCG Diet
I'm sorry to have been so long without posting. Family crises have absorbed a great deal of time and energy for the past month. I really appreciate all of your e-mails and comments. Keep them coming!

I'm now down 81 pounds and still going. I think I will probably be where I'd like to be in another 19 pounds, but, as I've always said, I'm going for at least 100 pounds and after that I'll assess whether or how much farther I want to go. I'll post photos soon.

Funny story: Last night, my best frie...

Traveling with the HCG Diet

Posted by Kathleen on Monday, March 21, 2011, In : HCG Diet
I'm just back from a nine-day trip to California and I am pleased to say I still was able to shed three pounds, despite some unavoidable slippage. I consider that a major victory considering that keeping my eating on track was difficult, especially during the time I was in a hotel room and attending business functions.

How did I do it? Planning, planning, planning. My dear friend Eleanor, who has been in food addiction recovery for ten years, shared some helpful ways to get organized. her majo...

Recent press coverage of the HCG Diet

Posted by Kathleen on Wednesday, March 9, 2011, In : HCG Diet
The HCG diet is all over the media these days. A couple of weeks ago, Dr. Oz did a 20-minute segment on his show. This morning, Dr. Oz was talking about HCG on Good Morning, America. And yesterday, the diet controversy hit the front page of the New York Times. I'll put the links to some of these at the end of this post.

First, I was happy to see that Dr. Oz is not completely opposed to the HCG diet, although he is adamant about three things:
1. A 500-calorie diet is too low.

2. The diet absolu...
